Bio

I was born in Caracas 1939, where I grew up. Eversince I’ve always had pencils and crayons around. When eight years old, I received drawing lessons from Italian artist Dontallea Nadásh. In grammar school such special lessons continued, and when studying Architecture at Central University in Caracas, I had Pedro León Zapata, National award for painting as drawing teacher. At the École des Beux Arts in Paris I was pupil to Abilio Padrón, also Panting national award in Venezuela.

I quit Architecture in 1963 for a life of adventure and travel first through Venezuela and then around the world. Interrupting my creative work though never abandoning it altogether.

In 1980 I married Marlene Nápoles, accomplished artist and illustrator, and settled with our two children in the outskirts of Mérida, Venezuela, resuming my activities as a draftman. In 1985 I worked as an Art Director in Alberto Arvelo’s film Candelas en la Niebla.

From 1995, 2005 and 2007 I had solo exhibitions of my drawings at Galería Minotauro, Caracas. In 2019 I did another solo exhibition in Sala TAC, Trasnocho cultural, Caracas.
